October 1 Notification Deadline

Recently, the US Department of Labor released a Frequently Asked Questions regarding the October 1 requirement for employers to provide notice to their employees of the new coverage options with the Health Care Marketplaces. According to the FAQ, there will be no penalty for not providing the notice.

However, the Department of Labor is still requiring employers to notify employees of the Marketplace by October 1. The DOL has not released how they plan to track employer notification, therefore we are encouraging employers to keep record of what, how and when notification was sent to employees.
